Privacy, in plain language

The short version

We collect what we need to run a community and nothing more. We don't sell your data, we don't run ads, and we don't use tracking cookies. If you want your data corrected or deleted, ask and we'll do it.

What we collect

Everything we hold, you typed in yourself. There are three places that happens:

• Your account. When you join, we ask for your email, name, company, contact number, country, city, and role. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and name from Google instead of a password.
• Your matching card (optional).If you create a founder matching card, you can add a display name, a profile photo, a headline, what you're building, who you're looking for, and your commitment level.
• Things you submit. If you list a company on Built Here or submit an event, we store what you submit, including any logo or image you upload.

Like every website, our hosting provider also keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses) to keep the site running and secure. We don't use them to profile you.

How we use it

• To run your account and sign you in.
• To show your matching card to other signed-in members, so founders can find each other. That's its entire purpose.
• To display the companies, projects, and events the community submits.
• To contact you about your account or the club when we need to.

That's the list. We don't sell your data, rent it, trade it, or hand it to advertisers. Ever.

Who can see what

Your account details (email, phone number, and the rest) are private to us. Your matching card is visible to other signed-in members — that's what it's for. One thing worth knowing: profile photos and company logos are stored on public image URLs, so anyone with the exact link can view the image itself. Don't upload a photo you wouldn't want seen.

Where it lives

We don't run our own servers. Your data is held by a small number of services we use to operate the site:

• Supabase — our database, sign-in system, and image storage.
• Vercel — hosts the website itself.
• Google— only if you choose “Sign in with Google,” which is handled under Google's own privacy policy.

Cookies

We use cookies for one thing: keeping you signed in. No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, no analytics scripts following you around the internet.

Your rights

Your data is yours. At any time you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — account, matching card, photos, all of it. We operate from Singapore and honour the PDPA, and we extend the same rights to members everywhere, including those covered by the GDPR. Just contact us and we'll sort it out; no forms, no friction.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. Delete your account (or ask us to) and your data goes with it, apart from anything we're legally required to keep for a short period.

Children

The club is for founders and isn't directed at anyone under 16. If we learn we hold data about a child under 16, we'll delete it.

When this changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and say so in the community. We won't quietly move the goalposts.
